Welcome to the Discover Page

There are many genres of photography that photographers enjoy but sometimes they may not fully understand all the technical features that are required. From understnding how Depth of Field works, The Inverse Square Rule, Second Curtain Flash to the exposure triangle of ISO, aperture and shutter speed.

At Rainbow Studio I have put together some short introductory learning sessions that will give you the knowledge and a fuller understing of each subject so that you are able to tackle these with much greater confidence. These 'Discover' sessions will, I am confident, help and provide you with the knowledge and condfidence that will ultimately improve your image making.

To start with, and as this is a new feature, I have only selected three subjects, and quite correctly you may ask why these three? The answer is that these were selected after looking at YouTube and searching for subjects that seem to be the most popular. The use of Photoshop and Ligtroom were also in high demand, but these are mainly for use in post production and I decided that it was more helpful to get the basics correct first.

That means understanding your camera and how to use light to achieve the results that you are looking for.

These three subjects are entirely, as is all phtotography, 'Light' dependant and a good understanding of how to use Light is at the heart of all good photography.
