A brief bit about John.

My interest in photography dates back to when I was at school and one of our masters asked if anyone was interested in starting a photography group. It sounded interesting so I said yes, later on after he had taken our pictures we were taken into his darkroom to see the results and to show us how it was done.

When in his darkroom he started to develop the images in a dish of what looked like plain water, we all looked and wondered what was happening, and then, as if by magic, that first image started to appear in the developing dish, to me, it was magic, and from that moment on I was hooked.

That facination of creating an image has stayed with me since then, I went on to study photography at what is now the University of West London and became a full time professional photographer. Followung on from that I was eventually able open my own studio in West Drayton, Middlesex.

When I joined The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) I continued to study and learn more about photography and I went on to achieve their Distinction of Associate (ARPS).

Following several years of doing voluntary work for the RPS at National, Regional and Local level, I was very honoured to be granted their 'Special Members Award', and with that I also recieved

Honary Life Membership.

Some years ago following my move to Chatteris I built my new home studio, which I have called 'Rainbow Studio'. In this studio I have been able to contiue to do some creative photography and give my clients  some great images. They have all been well are pleased with their images, and I am confident they will continue  to treasure them for many years to come.

In addition to my own photography I am also able to offer tution to photographers who wish to improve their skills and gain a greater understanding of photography, these are outlined on the 'Discover' page of this web site.
